From The Post-Crescent, Appleton, Wisconsin, 06 Aug 1907, Page 5:
“At Innsbruck, in Tyrol, Bishop Fox ordained two candidates for the priesthood from Appleton, Wis., who were visiting there at the time. This is the first time an American bishop has ordained a priest of his own diocese in a foreign land. The young priests – Edward Schimberg and M. Jaekels – are now on the ocean returning to their diocese await their appointment to some parish.
The bishop rested there for a week, being joined by Fathers Geissler and Marks, who had returned from the holy land.”
