“Rev. John Sprangers, who has been at the residence of Bishop Messmer for some time, has been named as the bishop’s secretary, that position having been vacant for the greater part of the summer.
Fr. Spranger’s family resides at Oastburg, Sheboygan county. He studied at St. John’s seminary in Minnesota and at St. Francis provincial seminary near Milwaukee. He completed his theological studies at the University of Innsbruck, Tyrol, in Austria, whence he returned this summer.”
